Komunikasi Identitas Profesional Pekerja Remote di Kota Palu: Analisis Identity

Pekerja remote di Kota Palu menghadapi tantangan khas berupa keterbatasan infrastruktur digital, pemadaman listrik berkala, koneksi internet tidak stabil, minimnya ruang kerja bersama, serta stigma sosial terhadap kerja jarak jauh. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana pekerja remote di Palu mengkomunikasikan dan menegosiasikan identitas profesional mereka di pasar kerja global. Dengan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif dan kerangka Communication Theory of Identity (CTI), data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap tiga informan terpilih secara purposive, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pekerja remote di Palu membentuk identitas profesional hybrid (lokal-global) yang resilien melalui interpenetrasi dinamis empat lapisan CTI: personal, enactment, communal, dan relational. Meskipun terdapat keterbatasan infrastruktur, komunikasi digital yang strategis memungkinkan negosiasi identitas yang berhasil. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa identitas profesional di konteks kota perifer terbentuk secara dinamis melalui negosiasi komunikatif lintas lapisan CTI.
