The suboptimal flood disaster management in Balongga Village has become a factor inhibiting the activities of the Balongga Village community. This can be seen from the impact of the disaster that is still visible in the Balongga Village environment. The purpose of this study is to examine and understand the implementation of flood disaster management by the Sigi BPBD, and to identify the factors that support and inhibit it. This study uses Nick Carter's disaster management theory, which includes three main aspects: response, recovery, and development.
The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, where data collection is carried out through in-depth interviews with four main informants, namely the Head of Division II of the BPBD, Balongga Village officials, and the Balongga Village community. This study shows that flood management by the Sigi BPBD in Balongga Village is still not optimal, especially in the recovery and development stages. Infrastructure repair and community economic recovery are slow due to limited funds and lack of community involvement. Flood prevention and environmental education efforts are also still very lacking. This research is expected to be used as a reference by parties who wish to conduct research related to Disaster Management.
