Abstrak

Penelitian ini menganalisis representasi Gibran Rakabuming Raka dalam konteks wacana pemakzulan Wakil Presiden pada sampul Majalah Tempo edisi 5–11 Mei 2025 yang berjudul "Orkes Pemakzulan Gibran". Fenomena ini mencuat setelah Forum Purnawirawan TNI secara terbuka menyuarakan pemakzulan dan mengirimkan tuntutan resmi kepada DPR dan MPR. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi konstruksi makna yang dibentuk media melalui tanda-tanda visual dan teks sampul majalah, dengan menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media merepresentasikan Gibran dalam narasi visual yang paradoks: tampak tenang secara lahiriah, namun berada di tengah ketidakstabilan politik yang tersembunyi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media massa berperan aktif dalam membentuk persepsi publik terhadap tokoh politik melalui penggunaan tanda-tanda visual yang tidak netral, terutama dalam situasi krisis.
